Payroll Clerk (Part Time) Position Title: Payroll Clerk (Admin) Location: Main Campus (Mt. Vista) Job Type: Hourly (Admin) Reports To: Director of Finance FTE: Part Time, 15-20 hours per month POSITION SUMMARY: Gardner School is seeking an experienced payroll professional to process three payrolls monthly across two locations. Each cycle is expected to take 4-6 hours. This opportunity will require some on-site work at our Country Friends Campus location in Brush Prairie (two payroll cycles per month) as well as our Main Campus location in Mt. Vista (one payroll cycle per month). We are seeking a self-starter who consistently meets deadlines and can manage their time effectively. RESPONSIBILITIES: Execute 3 payrolls each month for two campuses. Review personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, and occupations of newly hired workers, and changes in wage rates and occupations of employees on payroll. Process new or changed pay rates and deductions in Checkwriters and other records. Compute pay according to company policy. Review payroll information to ensure accuracy. Assess and assist in standardizing procedures to improve efficiency. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Maintain strict confidentiality with all financial and personal information. Timely and professional completion of required training, reports, and forms. Help to maintain school policies, regulations, and expectations. 
 Support the work of the Head of School and administrative/leadership team. Develop and maintain professional, collaborative, and collegial relationships with faculty and staff. Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned respective to staff member’s status as a Gardner community member. Attend infrequent meetings as needed, via Zoom or in person. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 - 2 years related payroll experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding payroll processing and wage and hour laws. Familiarity with Quickbooks, Procare and Checkwriters software.(preferred) Able to pass a federal background check. Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Can navigate verbal, digital, and written communication with administrators, staff, parents, and students to effectively communicate and work through challenges. Curious and kind in communication, showing care and openness to various cultures, experiences, and responses. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a 12-month part-time administrative position. Gardner School has two locations approximately 20 minutes apart by car; ability to be present at times on each campus is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical requirements are consistent with light physical duties required of office and administrative staff, including data entry. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Salary: $20 to $28 per hour Position Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt (Admin) Hours: Part time, 15-20 hours per month (approximately 4-6 hours per pay period.)
