Job Title: Tax Intern Location: San Diego, CA (in office; NOT remote) Job Type: Internship (Part-Time/Full-Time, Seasonal) Duration: 3-6 months Compensation: $25-$30/hr About Us We are a small CPA firm in San Diego, CA providing comprehensive tax, accounting, and advisory services to individuals and small businesses. We pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative environment where interns are treated as valued members of the team. Position Overview We are currently seeking a motivated Tax Intern to join our team for the upcoming tax season. This is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a career in accounting or tax to gain hands-on experience in a public accounting firm setting. Responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation of individual and business federal and state income tax returns - Organize and analyze client financial documents and tax data - Perform basic bookkeeping and data entry tasks using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) - Support staff accountants and CPAs with various client projects - Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information - Participate in internal training sessions and staff meetings as needed Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Junior or Senior preferred) - Basic understanding of tax concepts and accounting principles - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with tax software is a plus - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Eagerness to learn and contribute in a professional office environment What We Offer: - Real-world experience in tax preparation and public accounting - Mentorship from experienced CPAs and accounting professionals - Exposure to a wide range of clients and tax situations - Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments - Opportunity for future full-time employment or repeat internships How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter. Commercial Portfolio Manager responsibilities include: Managing a portfolio of commercial clients including monitoring loan covenants and structuring loan proposals. Underwriting and originating of new credits from existing and/or new customers including renewals, modifications, and annual reviews. Making appropriate loan structure recommendations. Proactively looks to expand client base by cultivating referral relationships, and target marketing clients/prospects in accordance with the Bank’s marketing standards. Meeting and exceeding monthly performance scorecard goals that include but, are not limited to developing new profitable business relationships. Enhancing the cross-sell ratio through the expansion and deepening of client penetration as well as job-related behaviors. Highly involved in indirect and direct sales calls as well as representing the Bank in various industry-specific trade organizations that promote the Bank’s loan growth within the desired industries. Preparing spreads, performing covenant checks, completing loan reviews, updating ticklers, and populating FDM (electronic document storage system) within a reasonable timeframe upon receipt of financial information and/or other requested documentation. Spreading, analyzing, and reviewing financial conditions, income sources, and collateral coverage of borrowers including corporations, partnerships, sole proprietors, and individuals. Collecting updated borrower financial information in accordance with periodic reporting requirements and completing scheduled loan reviews. Preparing loan presentation write-ups for management and loan committee approvals.
