THE POSITION The Clerk's Office of the United States District Court for the District of Oregon is now accepting applications for the position of Financial Specialist II in the Portland Division. As a member of the finance team, the Financial Specialist II performs and coordinates administrative, technical and professional work related to financial, accounting, and budgetary activities for the Court, including ensuring compliance with the appropriate guidelines, policies, and internal controls. Responsibilities also include preparing, updating, and analyzing a variety of accounting records, financial statements, and reports; overseeing and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities; assisting with budget preparation; assisting with internal reviews; providing recommendations to improve procedures; and assisting with local policy development on financial matters. The incumbent may lead the work of financial technicians or administrative support staff; however, responsibilities do not involve formal supervisory duties. Representative Duties: Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to the following: • Assists with the formulation, evaluation, and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols related to financial operations and budgetary execution throughout the court/office. • Performs reviews to ensure that the Court is in compliance with the Guide to Judiciary Policy, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles. SALARY RANGE This position is classified at CL 27 ($63,715 - $103,597) depending upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. We are looking for a Junior Accountant to maintain our back-end accounting for our real estate development entities, non-profit school and the family business. This is an onsite role. The Junior Accountant is responsible for handling various accounting functions including accounts payable, billing and collections, general ledger, payroll processing, reconciliations, analysis, budget, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, meets deadlines, works independently, and efficiently manages multiple tasks across finance and accounting functions. This position reports to the Accounting & Office Manager. CRITICAL TASKS: Accounts Payable. Process vendor invoices, expense reimbursements and A/P payments in compliance with Company policy. Assist in picking up mail, monitoring the A/P mailbox, including researching and resolving vendor/employee inquiries. Credit Card Payable. Download credit card statements, classify and key transactions into Quickbooks. Accounts Receivable. Manage billing and collections.
