2005 - 2025. 20 Years. That can be called a long time, particularly given how different the world looks now. But the same principles shaped its appearance then and now: stability, quality, capability. Since its introduction in 1984 they also have been the reason that the Toyota 4Runner has, and continues, to go down in automotive history as one of the most important vehicles ever built. This is my 1999 Toyota 4Runner. It is the best vehicle I will ever own. But after 20 years, I no longer use it to its fullest ability. After my second 4Runner was rear ended by an armored truck I worked with my mechanic to find another. After finding one in the South Bay it would go on to be maintained exclusively by him until 2015. After that it was maintained by a slew of other Toyota specialists through to today. There is a full ledger of receipts from every service the car has had during my ownership. During my ownership it was used extensively, with about 10,000 miles being accrued each year. Though it has been California kept its whole life it has been driven to Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Smogged, title in hand, new Michelin Defender tires, all accessories, attentional set of OEM floor mats, every single thing works well. No accidents, minimal cosmetic blemishes.
