We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Mechanic to join our family-owned car repair shop in Castro Valley, CA. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge in vehicle maintenance and repair, with the ability to work independently. Responsibilities: - Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs - Inspect, repair, and replace vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspensions - Work on both gasoline and diesel engines, ensuring all repairs meet industry standards - Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix mechanical issues - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and shop procedures Qualifications: - Journeyman-level experience in automotive repair, with a strong mechanical background - ASE certification or equivalent is preferred - Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment - Knowledge in heavy duty mechanics including engine dismantling and removing and replacing transmissions - Ability to work independently and efficiently - Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record - Smog Check Technician license is a plus Details: - **Location:** Castro Valley, CA - **Hours:** Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed - **Pay:** Competitive hourly wage starting at $30/hr, based on experience About Us: We are a small, family-owned business dedicated to providing excellent service to our community.
