I’m once again in search of a part-time gardener for the next four or so weeks. Roughly 12 hours a week (though could be as much as 20 for the first week) and you make the schedule that works best for you! All I ask is that you come a minimum of 4 hours each time. First, this position does not include mowing the grass or weed-whacking or blowing. Just focusing entirely on the flowering plants and fruits and vegetables in my various beds, as well as small trees and shrubs. I have a large variety of tools for the job, as well as some soul and additives. I’m just desperate to get about a hundred bulbs and bare-root plants in the ground right now, and will need a lot more careful weeding and pruning — and then, of course, leaf cleanup. The job will also involve pruning and dead-heading flowering plants, natural insect-control, lots of hand-weeding, and general yard cleanup each week. It’s incredibly important that you can tell the difference between weeds and plants! I prefer the full, jumbled “English Garden” look, so getting every last weed is not all that important to me ;) And I absolutely value advice or ideas you may have for my flower and small vegetable gardens. Experience with sprinklers is also preferred, though not required. Ownership or access to a truck or van or other vehicle for occasional dump-runs would be enormously helpful! In short, the ideal candidate for this job should be experienced with landscaping/gardening/plant care, etc. Should be able to work well with little direct supervision, and be good about asking questions and general communication.
