Position Summary The Purchasing Manager/Director will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement of building materials, components, and services required for manufactured home production. This role will play a key part in keeping our factory running smoothly—balancing cost efficiency, quality standards, and reliable supply chains. Depending on experience, the position may be structured as a Manager role (supporting the Purchasing Department) or as a Director role (leading procurement strategy and vendor relationships). Key Responsibilities Procurement & Purchasing - Source and purchase building materials, appliances, fixtures, and supplies required for home production - Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all transactions - Track order status to ensure timely delivery and resolve supply issues Vendor & Supplier Management - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and distributors - Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement - Evaluate supplier performance and manage approved vendor lists Inventory & Cost Control - Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to align supply with demand - Work closely with accounting and operations to maintain accurate cost reporting - Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Cross-Department Collaboration - Partner with production supervisors, plant managers, and design teams to forecast material needs - Ensure purchased products meet specifications and quality standards - Coordinate logistics for deliveries to minimize production downtime Qualifications - Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (manufactured housing, construction, or related industry preferred) - Strong negotiation and vendor management skills - Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic accounting practices - Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software/ERP systems (experience with manufactured housing systems a plus) - For Manager-level candidates: prior leadership experience in purchasing or supply chain What We Offer - Competitive salary (commensurate with experience and role level) - Health benefits - Paid time off and holidays - Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding Texas-based manufacturer - A team-oriented culture committed to quality, efficiency, and community
