





Sous Chef Location: Walnut Creek, CA About Us We’re a lively, independently owned restaurant located in downtown Walnut Creek. Known for our great food, fun atmosphere, and passionate team, we take pride in delivering excellent dining experiences to our guests. We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team and help us continue raising the bar. Position Overview As a Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in managing daily kitchen operations, supporting the Executive Chef, and leading by example. You’ll help ensure the kitchen runs efficiently, safely, and consistently — all while maintaining the high standards our guests expect. Responsibilities Team Leadership Supervise and support Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers Assist with scheduling and staffing based on business needs Ensure staff breaks, labor compliance, and uniform standards Train and mentor kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques, safety, and sanitation Ensure all dishes meet quality, recipe, and presentation standards Daily Operations Work approximately 50 hours per week Inspect all food deliveries for quality, timing, and accuracy Review vendor invoices and maintain cost controls Oversee prep work to ensure readiness for service Manage inventory and ordering to prevent shortages or excess stock Monitor food and labor costs to meet budget goals Reduce waste, spoilage, and theft through careful oversight Contribute to menu development and daily specials Jump on the line when needed to support the team What We Offer Competitive Salary Paid Vacation 5-Day Work Week (approx. 50 hours/week) 2 Consecutive Days Off Each Week Group Health Insurance (Kaiser) 401(k) Retirement Plan How to Apply If you’re passionate about cooking, love leading a team, and are ready to grow your culinary career, we’d love to meet you.
