All utilities included, heat hot water, gas for greenhouse heating, gas for stove, wood for the 3 wood stoves in the house, electricity (solar panels on roof), we have a number of streaming services that are included and accessible in the media room. Also high speed internet included. Also included bi weekly professional house cleaning, and weekly professional pool up keep, and snow plowing as needed in winter. Yes, we have a pool private to the property. The washer and drier do not require coins, parking is free and off street. Other fabulous features of this place include eggs to be found fresh out in the chicken coop as needed or wanted at no additional cost, pasteurized goat milk/cheese/ice cream/soap courtesy of the goats out back on the hill, a free to use vegetable garden outside during the garden season and in the greenhouse during the winter months. Next summer, we should have fresh honey from our own bees free and available to anyone living here. We sit on loosely 5 acres of land half wooded half open. The yard is a bit like a private park with a petting zoo, pool, edible gardens, space to picnic, and a trail through the woods. We are set back from the public town road up a private little road. We therefore get little to no street noise. Back in the woods there is a lot of wonderful wild growing food and medicine for those who know how to use it. The kitchen is stocked quite well with just about everything you could ever need from canners to dehydrator, to old hippy era juicer, and much more. The public areas are beautifully rustic and a bit antique in vibe. There is even space here to start a garden of your own... About us: My husband holds a PhD and works in technology in Lexington, I am a trained and certified herbalist and a bit of a homesteader. We have been married for 17 years, our marriage is very stable. We have a dog she is friendly with people and even with other animals outside. Unfortunately she is not ok with other pets inside the home so we must say no pets. We also keep bees, goats, chickens, and guinea fowl on the property. Our hobbies include playing with technology, building stuff, playing late at night with a telescope and the stars, watching the lightning bugs at the edge of the woods, enjoying a good thunder storm or snow storm. When it snows due to the way things are laid out and we are somewhat secluded it can feel like we are alone by our wood stove fire as the snow falls. We enjoy gardening, I like to spin yarn on an old fashioned wheel and knit, we watch tv, listen to podcasts and old timey radio, swim, ride horses nearby, milk goats twice daily, bake, forage the woods now and then, can sometimes, and cuddle our dog. Our dog's hobbies include playing with the neighbor's dog, stealing stuffed toys from yards abutting us, sniffing butts, chewing and burying raw hyde bones in the yard. I am usual around the property because this place is my job, and the dog is usually with me. I facilitate a small woman's book club that meets here monthly to discuss a shared reading experience. I have some old friends who stop in about once a weekish and family comes from time to time. Beyond that we are not particularly social. Our home is not a party house. House share Roommate: Someone responsible, respectful of privacy. We will always knock on your door if we need to bother you. We request the same courtesy. Bedrooms are private space. Expect to run into us and the dog both outside in the yard and in the public areas of the house. We are friendly but not in your business. We prefer not living with a stranger so hoping to find someone who can both have their own life and perhaps become a friend. Must be comfortable with and kind to all animals on the property. Work or school doesn't matter which, just have some direction. Hopefully you are someone who will appreciate this place and the unusual and unique situation out here. We hope our new roommate will be drama free, 420 in moderation or not at all, enjoys a glass of wine with dinner or occasionally socially but is not coming home on work nights crashing around. If your substance use interrupts your life or rent payment this is not going to be a good fit. Asthma is an issue for us, so anyone living here would need to maintain their vaccination for Covid and use some Covid common sense such as masking in crowded public indoor places. Regular testing is also a plus and can be done at no cost to you as we always keep tests in the house. Being clean in the kitchen is another big one we would like from anyone we share our home with. Being tolerant of our hypocrisy in relation to kitchen cleanliness is also unfortunately a must. This is a small functional homestead. I often have a wide range of projects going on in the kitchen and sometimes when I am done for the day, I just can't deal with one more thing. I try very hard never to let mess sit for more than 24 hours. We welcome a roommate to share our home, however while we respect everyone's right to own whatever weapon they like, this is a private home and we are not inclined to housing it here. You would have to find somewhere else to keep it. Occasional overnight guests are fine. If they are here more than twice a week time for them to pay half the rent. We see wildlife here with some regularity where we are located right on the border of Metro West and The Worcester area. This location qualifies as both. 40 minutes to Lexington, 35 to Concord, 45ish to Boston proper, 20ish to Framingham, 10 minutes to Hudson and Marlboro, 15-20 minutes to Worcester. Easy highway access, but we can be a bit of a commute. We see foxes sometimes, a bear once, they had a moose down the road through the woods about 5 minute walk away about a year or so ago, deer are not uncommon, foxes, squirrels, birds, bunnies, and chipmunks.
