POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Civil Engineer will utilize Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) methods in project management of road construction projects, land surveying and structural engineering to support civil infrastructure projects across tribal lands. This role works closely with the West Susitna Project Team in project planning, design coordination, permitting, and construction activities particularly those involving CM/GC contracts, bridge structures, and retaining systems within the State of Alaska. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will: • Provide technical leadership and oversight for infrastructure project delivered via CM/GC or other methods. • Assist in planning, design review, and construction management of transportation and civil works projects and others as required. • Provide expertise in land boundary analysis, ROW coordination, land acquisition and site surveying in tribal and state jurisdiction contexts. • Review and support the design of retaining structures, culverts, short-span and modular bridges, including seismic and geotechnical interface. • Monitor project process and identify risks or issues that may impact timelines or deliverables. • Coordinate with Tribal, state, federal, and municipal agencies. • Attend regular in-person meetings in Anchorage, AK and virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and common project delivery software. • Familiarity with SHPO/NEPO coordination, environmental permitting, and right-of-way acquisition processes in Alaska. • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies. • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with a high degree of accuracy. • Knowledge of structural engineering specific to bridge and retaining structure design. • Experience in land surveying, including legal description development, platting, and topographic evaluation. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills. • Ability to work independently and within a team setting. • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and difficult terrain in remote fieldwork zones. • Follow all DOT & PF and OSHA workplace safety policies, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field with a Registered Alaska Professional Civil Engineer (PE) required. • Alaska Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred, with experience on projects funded by Federal Lands, BIA, NSFLTP, or Tribal Transportation (TTP). • Fifteen (15) years of experience in civil engineering, including at least five (5) years in project management and CM/GC construction delivery. • Structural Engineer (SE) license or documented equivalent experience in bridge/structural work. • Alaskan residency. • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. • Clean state and federal background check. POSITION SUMMARY: The Archaeologist plays a key leadership role in supporting archaeological fieldwork, Section 106 compliance, and cultural resource documentation for the long-term development of the West Susitna Access Road project. This role works closely with the Knik Lead Archaeologist, Project Manager, and Field Supervisor to assess and document cultural sites while assisting with technology-driven survey improvements. With a focus on collaboration and professional growth, the Archaeologist will refine methodologies, enhance digital workflows, and ensure field efficiency in cultural site documentation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will: • Lead archaeological field surveys, documentation, and analysis of cultural sites. • Oversee Section 106 compliance efforts through detailed coordination and reporting. • Evaluate potential site locations based on survey findings to prioritize key areas of interest. • Develop GIS mapping and geodatabase management strategies for cultural site documentation. • Collaborate with the Lead Archaeologist to refine methodologies and integrate modern survey techniques. • Ensure survey operations remain within designated easements, identifying key cultural makers such as house pits, grave sites, human remains, village sites, midden deposits, cultural artifacts, and modified trees. o Hold authority to temporarily halt field activities if cultural artifacts are discovered. • Supervise field survey and data collection during 2025 cultural resource inventory and environmental review activities. • Oversee daily operations with the Lead Archaeologist and field teams. • Provide guidance to field supervisors and vegetation clearing teams to assess environmental impacts on cultural sites. • Attend bi-weekly Knik West Su team meetings to serve as an expert resource in archaeological site management. • Coordinate with state, DOT, and project stakeholders to align archaeological findings with development goals. • Prepare technical reports for internal project leadership and regulatory agencies, with potential future reporting responsibilities to Tribal Council. • Enhance survey methods by utilizing digital mapping tools, GPS, and geospatial databases. • Support Tribal cultural preservation efforts by maintaining accurate records and research archives. • Ensure traditional knowledge is recorded and considered in cultural site impact assessments. Complete projects accurately and by deadline as assigned, promptly communicating with IPM coordinator when unable to do so. 2.Participate in IPM department educational outreach programs at Four Star Greenhouse to result in an educated workforce that can accurately identify pests and diseases. 3.Scout Cultivation/Propagation Grow Rooms for insect and disease pressure. Accurately relay this information back to the IPM Supervisor and help disseminate information to the appropriate section grower/s. 4. Ensure that weekly treatments applications/sprays are completed on time and accurately while adhering to all Sanctuary Medicinals protocols 5. Ensure Biological Control Organisms (BIOS) are properly placed in and applied to crops. 6. Take accurate and timely readings of sticky traps and record findings in database. 7.
