The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner examines patients, provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnoses, provides consultation, participates in treatment planning among a multi-disciplinary team and prescribes medications as appropriate. The Psychiatrist also functions as an educator and collaborates with other clinicians and nursing staffing regarding health promotion, medication, and crisis management for patients. POSITION SUMMARY Accountable for assigned patients and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional psychiatric practice in the inpatient unit Responsible for admission orders and evaluations Provides integrative care including consultation and recommendation for medications, dietary changes, supplementation, healthy lifestyle counseling, and other integrative medicine approaches Communicates with other providers to ensure continuity and coordination Functions as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team Works alongside Westborough Behavioral Health clinical management and staff to support the inpatient programs Requirements EDUCATION Master's degree in nursing required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded role.
