Presidio is seeking a Server Engineer for a customer in Center City Philadelphia. The preferred candidate would be local to the Greater Philadelphia area and able to travel into the office 3 days a week. This individual will be a member of IT Help Desk Team and ensure systems are operational, configured appropriately and performing correctly. Responsibilities: Server operations: Measure the power and performance of various server platforms including both internal and competitive systems. Responsible for server assembly, operation, SW installation and debug/repair of hardware. Setup, configure, run maintenance, and lifecycle of Storage and Data Backup solutions. Patch management testing and coordination including development and testing security patch packages. Participate in technical on-call rotation. Installation and maintenance: Install parts (e.g. processors, memory, storage, NICs, etc.) for both rack and bench systems. Perform routine data collection and maintain systems, racks, power, network, and remote access. Serve as a key enabler for offsite resources by resetting systems, swapping out parts, and providing overall scheduling for server usage. Maintain lab server and network infrastructure and conduct automated tests on Clients Software/Hardware components. Configure Windows, setup PC from scratch, and troubleshoot hardware and software. Load drivers in Windows. Assist in maintaining IP Addressing database. Assist in maintenance and auditing of all monitoring systems. Firm Building:  Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve user experience, or develop more efficient processes. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. 3+ years of experience working as a Server Technician, Network Administrator or Windows Server Administrator required. 3+ years' experience in Windows, MS-Exchange, MS Office 365, basic networking and overall end-user support required. Excellent customer service skills including the ability to work with all levels of employee. Must possess a sense of urgency and work well under pressure. Ability to work independently, remotely or as a team. Ability to participate in on call rotation that may include evenings and weekends. Day-to-day administration, monitoring, and maintenance related to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, packet shapers, wireless systems, and circuits. Design, implement, and monitor network systems related to: Cisco network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WiFi systems, Circuits: WAN/MPLS, internet, replication, SIP, Network VPNs. Assure off-site disaster recovery environment is consistently available. Participate in disaster recovery testing as directed. Participate in capacity planning, ensuring that systems have the capacity to meet strategic business needs with few or no reliability issues. Work with 3rd-party vendors to procure hardware and software solutions, as well as addressing updates and issues after implementation. This job is similar to a cable internet or satellite internet installer. The incumbent will need to resolve issues and/or problems as they arise with minimal supervision. This position requires the use of computers and networking in regards to radio communication and installing internet routers, switches and cabling. An understanding of computer networks is preferred and an interest in such networks will be considered. Roof climbing and tower climbing will be required but not on a daily basis. Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be in good physical condition. Interest in computer and networking technologies is a plus. Experience in tower climbing and experience in wireless communications is also a plus. This position will require a lot of outdoor exposure (i.e., in field work and at remote locations throughout San Diego County). The position is non-exempt and the standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., however some work after hours may be required depending on business needs. Essential Functions 1. Perform tower construction activities including assembling/erecting towers, installing antennas, mounting hardware, installing coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning and optimizing antennas and lines. 2. Install solar panels, mounts, electrical, batteries, building out enclosures and water sealing electronics. 3. Installation of network hardware, including but not limited to, switches, routers, media converters, wireless access points, microwave radios and dishes. 4. Safely and efficiently complete repairs and upgrades at elevated heights. 5. Perform minor construction tasks, including digging holes, weed abatement, clearing brush, mixing and pouring concrete. 6. Perform home installations which involves; drilling in walls, installing cable, mounting antenna on roofs and configuring internal electronic equipment. 7. Configure internet wireless routers, radios, antenna, switches and managing multiple radio vendor interfaces. 8. Install broadband wireless equipment in a variety of situations including; roof top, tower, pole mount, tribal buildings and modular buildings. 9. Climb and work on towers for the purpose of installing, replacing or equipment. 10. Drive on many different road conditions and to remote areas, both on and off maintained roads. 11.
