This 229-square-mile national park’s primary attraction is Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles long and half a mile (800 meters) deep. Its red and tan Navajo sandstone has been carved by the North Fork of the Virgin River. Other notable features include The Great White Throne, Checkerboard Mesa, Kolob Arch, Three Patriarchs, and Virgin River Narrows. A highlight of visiting Zion is taking the park-provided propane-powered free shuttle from spring through fall (April 1 to October 31), traveling up the main canyon to the Temple of Sinawava. Majestic and colorful sandstone cliffs rise into the sky. During off-seasons, visitors may drive their private vehicles into the main canyon. Located in Utah, this national park is extremely famous in the U.S. and is one stop along the classic Grand Circle scenic driving route in the American Southwest. Zion National Park is one of the most suitable national parks in the U.S. for hiking, offering nearly 10 trails of various lengths. The Narrows and Angels Landing are two particularly well-known hikes. The former requires special equipment rental and involves walking in water, with a round-trip distance of 9.4 miles and taking nearly 8 hours. Angels Landing Trail is ranked among the top ten hiking trails in the U.S. and is highly challenging. 📌 Bryce Canyon National Park Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southwestern Utah, USA. Despite its name containing the word 'canyon,' it is not a true canyon but rather a large natural amphitheater formed by erosion along the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Its unique geological formations are called hoodoos, shaped by wind, water, ice, and sedimentary rock layers. The red, orange, and white rocks create extraordinary natural scenery, earning it the reputation as a hall of natural stone figures. Most visitors use the 18-mile scenic drive to view the landscape, allowing access to 13 viewpoints within the amphitheater. Bryce Canyon has eight marked and maintained hiking trails, all of which can be completed in less than a day. D2 Page > Antelope Canyon > Horseshoe Bend > Las Vegas In the morning, we will visit Horseshoe Bend, a renowned photography spot featured by National Geographic. Here, the river cuts a 360-degree turn through reddish-brown canyons, forming a horseshoe-shaped bend that gives the site its name. Then we proceed to Lake Powell, the origin point of the Grand Canyon. With gentle breezes, mirror-like waters, and fiery red rocks, you’ll feel like stealing a half-day of leisure from life. Next, we will explore the unique slot canyon—Antelope Canyon, one of the world’s top ten photography locations. Finally, return to Las Vegas. Itinerary: Page → Antelope Canyon (self-paid, 2 hours) → Horseshoe Bend (mandatory fee, 1 hour) → East Rim & South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park (mandatory fee, 2.5 hours) → Las Vegas Special Notice: From 01/13/2025 to 01/26/2025, when Lower Antelope Canyon is closed, the itinerary will be changed to visit Antelope Canyon X (self-paid, 90 minutes). 🍔 Meals: Breakfast: included; Lunch: at own expense; Dinner: at own expense 📌 Antelope Canyon Antelope Canyon is one of the world’s most famous slot canyons and a renowned photography destination. Geographically, the canyon is divided into two separate sections known as Upper Antelope Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon. The area’s geology features famous red sandstone, and flash floods have sculpted the rock walls into a dreamlike world. Located within an Indian reservation, this naturally magical landscape is considered a “subterranean paradise” for tourists—but entry requires guidance by Native American guides. This requirement exists not only for the protection of nature and culture but also for visitor safety. Even if the sky above the canyon is clear and sunny, a sudden storm could instantly transform this narrow paradise into a raging torrent with no possibility of escape. 📌 Lake Powell Lake Powell lies along the western branch of the San Juan River. Originating in southern Colorado, the San Juan River flows approximately 579 kilometers, passing through northwestern New Mexico and southeastern Utah before joining the Colorado River. Lake Powell was named in honor of the pioneer who first rafted this river and proposed developing its water resources. Its surface area is more than twice that of Lake Mead, featuring diverse red sandstone formations, stone arches, canyons, and vast expanses of blue water. Its scenery surpasses that of Lake Mead and has become a major national resort area in the American Southwest. 📌 Horseshoe Bend Horseshoe Bend is located near the small Arizona town of Page, not far from Antelope Canyon. Page, Arizona belongs to the Navajo Nation Reservation. It is nearly 500 kilometers from Las Vegas, and departing early in the morning allows arrival around noon. Not only is Horseshoe Bend free to visit, but more importantly, despite having only one viewing point, its visual impact is unmatched anywhere else in the world. The soil here, rich in iron and manganese metals, shines with a beautiful metallic red under sunlight, similar to other areas in Utah. Additionally, the Colorado River that carved this bend appears emerald green, creating a striking contrast with the red earth—visually pleasing. Furthermore, the curve of the bend is smooth and aesthetically pleasing in shape. Lastly, the depth and scale of the bend give it tremendous grandeur! When looking down at the Colorado River, you can see boats appearing as tiny as flies.
