This is a full-time, exempt position with a flexible schedule that accommodates in-person and remote-work schedules, requiring weekly presence in MALT’s office in Point Reyes Station, and in the West Marin community. \r\n\n\r\n\nAbout You\r\n\n--BA/BS degree in related field and a minimum of 10 years of successful experience in conservation practice or related field, preferably nonprofit, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.\r\n\n--Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance.\r\n\n--Experience managing and implementing complex and multiple projects, including managing finances, coordinating the work of colleagues and partners, and stepping in to do necessary work yourself.\r\n\n--Experience in partnership development and project management with non-profit partners, community groups, and government agencies.\r\n\n--Highly collaborative leader with demonstrated standing in the conservation and land trust communities. \r\n\n--Strong track record of achieving results. \r\n\n--Demonstrated experience tracking, applying for, and managing public and private funding sources, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.\r\n\n--Ability to gain confidence in and work with agriculturalists and the agricultural community.\r\n\n--Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated proficiency in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office (Word, --Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Suite, preferred experience with Monday.com and Slack.\r\n\n\r\n\nKey Responsibilities/Essential Functions\r\n\n--Lead and manage a team to advance best practices for efficient and effective agricultural land management to maximize biodiversity, climate resilience, and regenerative agricultural stewardship practices. \r\n\n--Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Leadership Team to identify, establish, and implement programmatic goals and strategies. \r\n\n--Promotes cross functional collaboration and leads team projects involving climate resilience, biodiversity, best land management practices, and other topics germane to the mission of MALT.\r\n\n--Actively track, and collaboratively apply for public and private funding for conservation programs. \r\n\n--Strategically cultivate partnerships with individuals, agencies, and organizations, including presenting MALT’s work to external audiences as needed.\r\n\n--Cultivate and manage relationships with land stewards, landowners, partners, and the agricultural community, representing MALT in the West Marin and neighboring communities. \r\n\n--Plan, manage, budget, and implement conservation programs, which includes staff specialized in land stewardship and conservation science. The Position The Director of Conservation Programs is a senior-level position, responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will build resilient and durable land management solutions to help preserve agriculture, protect biodiversity, and build climate resilience on working lands in Marin County. The Director of Conservation Programs reports directly to the Executive Director and will manage a team of one (1) to three (3) staff as well as mentor and collaborate with non-direct reports to strengthen the organization as a whole. Pick up and deliver participants (including adults and children) to and from various locations, including rural/urban areas and reservations, for trainings, appointments and special activities. 16.
