The Apprentice Carpenter’s principal duty is to assist the lead Carpenter and Site Superintendents with task preparation and site clean-up as directed. The Apprentice Carpenter is under supervision of the Site Superintendent on each project and reports directly to the Director of Construction. *This position requires travel within California and Northern Nevada. Projects outside of 50 miles from Sacramento typically require out-of-town stay during the workweek. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday; hours and location varies based on job schedule. Saturdays/Sundays may be required on occasion. Apprentice Carpenter provides support with these Carpentry Responsibilities: • Prepare, set up, form concrete for interior plumbing trenches uses specialized hand tools • Prepare, set up, form concrete for exterior sidewalks and ramps • Rough carpentry to include roof top openings and support for mechanical equipment • Rough carpentry to install roof structural supports for mechanical equipment • Rough carpentry for wood backing and blocking structure is walls and ceilings • Finish carpentry to install cabinets, kitchen equipment and counter tops • Finish carpentry to install restroom accessories, partitions and doors & hardware • Finish carpentry to install sealants and caulking for sealing finish materials • Light demolition • General site organization and clean up Apprentice Carpenter – Required Qualifications 1 year on-site construction work. Basic knowledge of handling, care, and working with various types of tools. Works efficiently on a team and individual tasks. Willingness to learn and practice new skills. Ability to understand and follow processes and procedures. Ability to perform light and heavy lifting. Must be enthusiastic and professional. Driver’s License Required. Safety Training upon hire.
