📍 Primary Role in Los Angeles | Training in San Diego Top Notch Catering is seeking a Sous Chef to join our growing culinary team. This role is ideal for a motivated, hands-on leader who thrives in a high-volume kitchen and is eager to support menu execution, staff training, and consistent quality across our catering operations. What You’ll Do Report directly to the Regional Kitchen Director and Director of Operations. Lead and motivate line cooks, prep cooks, and utility staff during production. Ensure all dishes meet Top Notch Catering’s standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. Assist with recipe execution, portion control, and menu rollouts. Support ordering, inventory management, and cost control. Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Help train new staff and reinforce proper techniques. Step into the lead role when the Kitchen Director is offsite. Assist with tastings, private events, and catering services. Support prep and readiness for local health inspections. What We’re Looking For 3+ years of kitchen leadership experience (Sous Chef, Lead Line Cook, or equivalent). Strong culinary skills in high-volume or catering environments. ServSafe Manager Certificate (or ability to obtain quickly). Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality. Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable. Flexible schedule and willingness to complete 1–2 weeks of training in San Diego. Do you have at least a year or two of experience shaping, mixing, or working with artisan bread in a bakery or kitchen setting—and want to grow in your craft? We’re Breadfarm, an artisan bakery rooted in quality, consistency, and community. We’re on the hunt for a Bread Mixer to join our team. This is a hands-on production position where you’ll be shaping, mixing, baking and learning every single day. We produce 150–600 loaves daily with a team of 2-4 skilled bakers on shift.
