Experienced telecom and low voltage technician needed to work part-time on phone system installs and repairs, cabling, telecom, and related miscellaneous projects throughout the Phoenix metro area and west valley with occasional travel to other Arizona cities. Work includes installing and repairing premise Avaya telephone systems, pulling, testing, and terminating low voltage cabling for networks and telephone systems and cameras, as well as network turnups and troubleshooting of simple devices with remote support. Applicants must have reliable transportation and basic hand tools. Use of personal vehicle is reimbursed at .50 per mile beyond normal commute to work. Tools include a minimum 6 ft ladder (8 ft preferred,) cable cutting, terminating, and testing tools, and the drills and/or screwdrivers necessary to terminate jacks and wall mounting equipment for cable. Candidates must be able to both work well as part of a team and perform jobs independently as needed. We are looking for central and west Phoenix based personnel and the job is part time. Higher compensation is for techs with phone system experience. Must also have good communication skills to explain to clients the scope of work being performed. The position requires candidate to own a cell phone with Wi-Fi hotspot capability as well as a laptop.
