Systems Engineer – Long Beach Sierra Cybernetics is seeking an experienced Network Operations Center Systems Engineer with 4+ years experience in Systems Administration and Systems Engineering to work for us supporting our Port of Long Beach client. You will assist the NOC managing and supporting several hundred servers, 99% virtual, for the Port’s network and systems infrastructure. The position is expected to be approximately 9+ months contract assignment. Fully onsite at the Port offices in downtown Long Beach. Open to US citizens, green card holders, and H1-b visa holders. Education, Experience and Skills • Bachelor’s degree in related field • Microsoft Certification: Role based Fundamentals, Associate or Expert, MCSE, MCSD, MCSA • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) • VMware Certification: VCTA, VCP, VCAP, or VCDX • Pure Storage: Associate or Professional Duties and Responsibilities 1. Active Directory administration (On prem / Azure AD, AD Trusts, ADCS group policy creation and support) 2. Experience with Cisco UCS Converged/Hyperconverged Infrastructure managed by Intersight 3. Day to day Windows Systems Administration - Configure, troubleshoot and resolve issues 4. Builds and implements Windows Servers 5. Mimecast email security administration 6. Exchange administration 7. Microsoft M365/O365/Purview administration 8. Experience administrating Veeam Backup and Recovery 9. Microsoft SQL server administration, high availability and cluster management (NOC focused) 10. VMware administration 11. Azure cloud services experience 12. Patch management (Windows, Linux, and windows APPS) 13. Business application and server incident management (Monitor / Break Fix) 14. Experience supporting and implementing disaster recovery processes, workflows and systems 15. Experience migrating from Windows Server 2008/2012 to Windows Server 2022/2025 16. Experience with Cisco UCS in relation to Veeam Backup and Recovery 17. Experience with Pure Storage SAN systems 18. Deployments, Upgrades, and Documentation 19. MDM - Experience with Intune, Kandji 20. PowerShell – Experience using PowerShell, ability to write and customized scripts 21. SCOM – Experience with Systems Center Operations Manger 22. SCCM – Experience with Systems Center Configuration Manger 23. Experience writing technical documentation 24. Data Center work – Racking, Installation, Configurations, Cable Management, UPS/PDU, Monitoring 25. Web services – Experience in IIS, Tomcat, WordPress 26. NAC – Experience with Network Access Control technologies
