THE largest independent Pet and Feed retailer in Placer County, we're looking for the right individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, fun, animal loving, customer service-oriented environment. You will help load customer products such as hay, shavings & feed. This is a very physically demanding job! Your gonna sweat but get in great shape, no need for the gym at this job. There is something to be said about working outside with others and having fun. No headsets, fryer grease, or miserable customers who don’t appreciate you. The person filling this position must be hardworking, reliable and have good customer service skills. Sense of humor is always good. They must be capable of working independently and as part of our energetic team. Oh, did we mention free ice cream almost all year round? When you start, talk to Sam, he’s responsible for keeping the freezer full of your favorite ice cream bars. Basic Job Requirements Included (but not limited to): • Must be 16 yrs. or older (18 for forklift certification) • Physically able to lift (push OR drag) objects weighing up to 100lbs. multiple times per day • Able to work around large amounts of hay, dust and dirt daily, it’s a dirty but rewarding job. • Read, write and count accurately. Yep, thank a teacher for this one. Accurately is the key word here. • Squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders • Work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business dictates. We are an essential business; so we do not close for Covid or any other disaster unless your safety is an issue. Animals have to eat. If there are fires or disaster, we do kick it up a notch and support the community. With every fire in the area over these past few years we have responded with donations and logistical support to those affected. Roles and Responsibilities include: • Assist in keeping warehouse organized and inventory accurate • Load customer purchases such as hay, shavings, dog food, cat food, monkey chow, worm food, bird seed, cattle feed, lemur feed, flamingo feed, you get the idea, load a lot of stuff into a lot of vehicles. Without damaging them please…. • Help to keep store shelving cleaned & stocked • Safely stock/goods using forklift in warehouse or yard, work smart not hard…. • Keep warehouse and surrounding grounds clean and tidy • Ability to move merchandise with the assistance of proper material handling equipment (hand cart, forklift etc.) • Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders • Ability to easily lift and move merchandise weighing 50 pounds, throughout the store & warehouse • Assist delivery drivers by pre-loading delivery trucks with hay, shavings, sack feeds and more • Unload, inspect, check-in and stock warehouse and yard merchandise utilizing established procedures.
