Description

High Country Performance 4x4 is looking for a full time tire tech! A tire technician installs, repairs, balances, and replaces tires on various vehicles, ensuring vehicle safety and customer satisfaction. Key duties include mounting and dismounting tires, performing tire repairs like patching punctures, using tire changers and balancing machines, inspecting tires for wear and damage, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. They must also follow safety protocols, operate power tools and lifts, potentially assist with customer service, and sometimes perform roadside assistance or fleet checks. Key Responsibilities: Tire Installation & Replacement: Removing old tires and wheels, installing new tires, and remounting them onto vehicles. Tire Maintenance & Repair: Performing tire rotations, balancing, repairing small punctures, and replacing valve stems. Equipment Operation: Using and maintaining machinery such as tire changers, wheel balancers, lifts, and various hand and power tools. Inspection & Safety: Inspecting tire casings for defects like holes and tears, checking for proper tire pressure, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Customer Service: Explaining services, recommending new tires, and sometimes closing tire sales. Workshop Maintenance: Keeping the service area, tools, and equipment clean and organized, and disposing of unusable tires. Additional Duties: May involve conducting fleet checks, performing roadside assistance, and documenting services and inventory. Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficiency with tire service tools, lifts, and balancing machines. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and adherence to safety guidelines. Customer Service: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent service. Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy tires and work in various weather conditions. Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify tire issues and determine appropriate solutions. Teamwork: A collaborative mindset to work effectively with other technicians and staff. Valid Driver's License: Required for mobile technicians and some other roles. Compensation will depend on experience level. Starting at $19/hr and up.
