General Information Job Code: SHR-DM-04/05M Location: Ripple Effect Headquarters – Rockville, MD Employee Type: Exempt, Full-Time Regular (Ask our recruiters about flexible work arrangements) Telework: Hybrid Clearance: Public Trust Manager: Yes Number of Openings: 1 Salary Range: $105,166.40 - $131,458.00 per year (how we pay and promote) Responsibilities Data Science & AI Leadership: Lead and manage data science, modeling, and AI projects, ensuring technical soundness and relevance, in support of government contracts. Develop detailed project plans to track progress and manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs related to process, outcome, and impact evaluation studies. Supervise and mentor cross-disciplinary teams of data scientists and evaluation specialists. Enhance team operations through the development and implementation of streamlined processes. Data Analysis & AI: Provide technical advice on methodology approaches to accomplish project objectives (e.g., research design, analytical techniques, sampling methods). Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems, evaluate program performance, and generate insights from large and complex data sets to improve methodologies. Develop coding frameworks using NVivo, R, or other coding platforms. Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in data science and modeling, deploying AI tools such as machine learning, natural language processing, and large language models to develop new solutions. Data Management: Extract and transform raw health data from multiple sources into meaningful and actionable insights. Aggregate coded comment data to surface themes and insights. Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation, cleaning processes, and best practices for data management. Reporting: Develop client reports using aggregated data. Track and process progress reports using an electronic database. Review documents for accuracy and collaborating with team members to resolve any discrepancies. Present findings and recommendations to key decision-makers in a clear and concise manner. Training & Documentation: Develop training materials and co-lead training events. Develop and revise SoPs and other related process documentation. Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to define data science needs and project objectives. Contribute to proposal writing and technical solutioning for new projects. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, or other relevant field 10 years relevant work experience, including at least 4 years of those years in a social or biomedical science related field Basic Requirements Experience developing data-driven insights and visualizations that clearly convey complex concepts and conclusions. Experience leading biomedical research or public health data science projects for the federal government Strong understanding and proven experience with AI, statistical and machine learning techniques, and other emerging technologies to enhance analytical conclusions. Proven experience as a Senior Data Scientist, with a focus on data analysis, modeling, evaluation, and visualization and technical experience with qualitative or quantitative software packages. Proficient in coding languages such as Python or R, data manipulation tools like SQL, and cloud platforms like Azure. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
