War on addiction (Eagan)

I hesitate to compare the struggle of addiction to war, as I’m not a veteran, but the parallels are striking. Like war, there are casualties. Like war, there’s collateral damage. The pain, misery, and suffering are immeasurable. Like war the fight is ultimately for freedom. There are no Rambos in this battle; victory doesn’t come alone.
