Description

The Role: Applied Carbon has several openings available for a Run Technician. The Run Technician is the "eyes and the brain" of our pioneering mobile pyrolysis systems, which convert agricultural residue into biochar. Running our proprietary equipment requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, plus the ability to monitor and adjust process parameters in real-time. This role supports sustainable agriculture and the carbon removal industry. We have positions available for day shift (6 am - 6 pm) and night shift (6 pm - 6 am). Key Responsibilities: Continuously monitor critical parameters like temperature, pressure, motor speeds, and feed rates. Make real-time adjustments to feed rates and other inputs to maintain optimal operating conditions. Recognize process deviations and respond quickly to prevent equipment damage or quality issues. Understand the relationship between different process variables and how changes affect quality and yield. Analyze operational data to optimize system performance. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on systems. Handle mechanical, electrical, and fluid power challenges. Collect soil, biomass, and biochar samples per protocols. Requirements Must be available to work on-site at our Houston headquarters and be willing to travel up to 50% of your time. Off-site assignments typically last between 2-3 months. Flexibility to work holidays as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or vocational training is advantageous. Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and operational data. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
