Description

Estimator II for the US division of Building & Construction Systems (BCS).  This position, reporting to the Order Pursuit Supervisor, plays a critical role in the pricing/estimating of construction projects such as storefronts, curtain wall, doors and windows.  The ideal candidate will have broad construction knowledge, a strong customer focus, and exceptional verbal communications skills.  Requirements Primary Responsibilities  Prepares cost estimations for projects and construction plans using customer supplied lists, customer elevations, and architectural plans. Provides exceptional customer service for Kawneer’s clients. Consults with internal teams, clients, sales reps, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. For example, quote follow-ups, order changes, product related issues, and customer claims. Be a point-of-contact on phone inquiries with expectation of 100% response and customer assistance without frequently forwarding calls to other front-end employees. Responsibilities Essential Knowledge and Skills Experience in the Construction Industry (estimating, drafting, project management, etc.) Strong written / verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a team environment in a professional office setting. Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Excel Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Qualifications Basic Qualifications HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution. 2-5 years of experience in the Construction Industry (estimating, drafting, project management, etc.) Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor degree from an accredited institution 5-10 years of work experience in the construction / architectural industry. 5-10 years of cost estimating experience. Previous experience providing cost estimates for Curtain Wall / Window Wall products. Experience using JD Edwards and / or KaluCAD; Ability to visualize design concepts from Architectural Plans.
