Key Responsibilities Use psychotherapy to improve the quality of life for individuals, groups, and families. Test and assess patients for indications of mental health disorders. Develop treatment plans and strategies to help patients. Support patients who have experienced traumatic life events. Provide ongoing care and evaluation to patients with long-term difficulties. Refer patients to other specialists or doctors as needed. Help patients set realistic goals and monitor their progress.
