The Emory Valley Center We at the Emory Valley Center (EVC) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, are a nonprofit organization that has been changing lives since 1955, when a group of devoted parents came together to create better opportunities for their children with disabilities. Today, the EVC supports people of all ages with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities across East Tennessee, offering everything from early childhood education, therapy, job coaching and so much more. Probably the largest part of what makes up the EVC is our residential department, where caring staff help individuals live as independently as possible and help support them with everyday necessities (that could be learning to cook a meal, getting ready for work, or enjoying community outings). The focus is always on building confidence and celebrating each person’s unique abilities. Residential and Home Managers go above and beyond—supporting daily routines, creating personalized care plans, training dedicated staff, and ensuring every home feels like family. It’s a place where people grow, laugh, thrive, and truly belong.
