Stanbridge University's science division is seeking applications for part-time faculty to join the General Education faculty community to provide instruction, guidance, and mentorship to the university's students. Reporting to the program's manager, the candidate will be responsible for providing a culture of educational effectiveness and excellence of student learning outcomes in science education. Paramount to the candidate's success is a deep commitment to the teaching and learning environment, shared governance, and demonstrated experience with high-quality instruction. Essential Functions: Able to teach on-campus with a course assignment in: Pathophysiology Effectively delivers class instruction utilizing course syllabi and appropriate educational resources. Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to student learning and engagement while effectively planning and preparing for instruction and student success. Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and strategies as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process. Assesses student work in a timely fashion and conveys feedback to students. Manages the learning environment by keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and administering academic and attendance policies. Participate in programmatic shared governance. Qualifications: MUST be willing to commute to at least one campus, but high preference if candidate can travel to more than one campus, NOT looking for remote only. A graduate-level or terminal degree in a science discipline from an accredited college or university. Instructors must have at least 15 semester credit hours (or equivalent) in the subject area they teach. A minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching adult learners in higher education preferred. Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills. Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within a deadline-oriented environment. $35-$50/hr. Salary is dependent on experience and education. Ability to read fine print and operate computers with precision. Ability to understand voices over the telephone and in person. There is no guarantee of continuous employment.  The adjunct instructor will teach to a diverse student population. Course timing is at the discretion of the academic department offering the course.  Adjunct faculty will be made aware of the timing of the course prior to the offering of an official contract for the course.  In some instances, flexibility in course timing may be available.   The list off duties below represents minimum expectations of all faculty: Utilize the NP syllabus template, approved textbooks and supplemental course materials, and Canvas LMS. Submit personalized course syllabus to dean in electronic format one (1) week prior to course start date. Adhere to printed course schedule meeting times and locations. While there is not a formal office hours requirement, it is expected that you will be available to students outside of class by email and by appointment as needed. Ensure that all assessments within the course are graded and returned to the students promptly. Mid-term grades are required to be submitted for traditional undergraduate classes. Final grades and all course obligations must be completed by the due date published by the Registrar each term, typically the week after finals. This is required for the adjunct assignment & contract to be considered satisfactorily fulfilled. Fencing Instructor New Amsterdam Fencing Academy (NAFA) is dedicated to bringing our program, and all of its many benefits, to students who love and know fencing and to those who would otherwise never have the opportunity to experience this noble sport. New Amsterdam Fencing Academy (NAFA) seeks a professional and enthusiastic Fencing Instructor to join our team. As a member of the NAFA team of fencing coaches, instructors will be assigned to head after-school and summer camp fencing programs throughout the five boroughs. Responsibilities include daily planning and organization of fencing classes. Coaches are responsible for implementing NAFA fencing courses at after-school programs at area elementary schools, middle schools and community centers. They must be effective and professional communicators with school staff and NAFA staff and administrators. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, organized, and fun! Instructors are responsible for the safety and well-being of groups of children. Instructors must have experience working with children or experience with sport fencing, and preferably both. Candidates with limited experience in one of these two areas will be provided appropriate training. All new hires will be expected to undergo training in NAFA curriculum and pedagogy. Classes to be taught are held between 3:00 and 6:00 Mondays through Fridays throughout the school year and between 10:00 and 4:00 during the summer.
