Teaching Fellow ZEST Preparatory Academy Charter School is a K-5 charter school in Douglasville, GA (Metro Atlanta area). Our mission is to provide an academically rigorous, supportive, and joyful learning environment to develop the leader inside every student for lifelong educational achievement and impactful community service. OUR APPROACH Our college preparatory model includes three key components beginning with an intentional focus on language and literacy development to increase critical thinking and reading proficiencies for all students. Second, a discovery-based learning approach where teachers encourage our students to take ownership of their learning by discovering new ideas and solutions to real world challenges. The third component, leadership, teaches essential habits of leadership so students can apply real world skills to their overall growth and development. ZEST Prep intentionally teaches leadership skills beginning in kindergarten. JOB TITLE: Teaching Fellow CLASSIFICATION: Instructional Support POSITION SUMMARY An integral part of our success will be the daily implementation of highly effective teaching and learning that allows students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. JOB EXPECTATIONS The Teaching Fellow is responsible for supporting learning in ZEST Preparatory Academy kindergarten classrooms. Roles and Responsibilities INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT Partner with the Lead Kindergarten Teacher to support classroom instruction in to ensure academic and social-emotional needs are met Support small group instruction and assessment practices for a diverse group of students Demonstrate the ability to embrace differentiated instructional approaches to learning Engage in continuous professional development and shared learning with other professional staff CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SUPPORT Build and maintain relationships with students Demonstrate a sound ability to support a positive learning environment Supervising students in and out of the classroom Support student arrival, dismissal, lunch duty, and recess ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT Performing duties such as tracking student attendance, typing, filing, photocopying, and grading student work Ensuring the upkeep of educational materials, equipment, and supplies COMMUNITY COLLABORATION Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members, and Support Field Experiences and other school programs Participate on a school-based committee Attend school and community events Ancillary Duties: Include, but are not limited to: Demonstrate positive support for the Board, administrative team, school staff, and the community Attend after school activities Required to have prompt, regular attendance and be available to work on-site Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred Currently possess or be eligible for a Georgia paraprofessional or teaching certification required Experience: Knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence Demonstrated experience working with elementary aged students required Charter school experience desirable Requirements Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed Current authorization to work in the United States Clear Criminal Background Check COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Competitive salary scale Competitive benefits package including medical, dental insurance, vision insurance, and life insurance. Stanbridge University's science division is seeking applications for part-time faculty to join the General Education faculty community to provide instruction, guidance, and mentorship to the university's students. Reporting to the program's manager, the candidate will be responsible for providing a culture of educational effectiveness and excellence of student learning outcomes in science education.
