Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting and compliance. This role will involve managing tax compliance and filings, coordinating with the external tax advisors, and reporting, ensuring adherence to all applicable tax laws and regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Tax Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and review all sales and use tax returns. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax documents. Manage tax provisions and related disclosures in financial statements. Oversee the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual tax estimates. Audit and Review: Coordinate and manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Prepare responses to tax notices and liaise with external tax advisors and auditors. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance. Research, Analysis & Systems: Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact us. Analyze the tax impact of new investment opportunities and business initiatives. Assist in implementing Avalara as part of Intacct. Other Areas: Ad hoc projects Crosstrain and back up other team members when necessary Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations Experience in filing sales tax returns with software tools (Avalara experience preferred) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills
