I'm a 34 year old woman looking for a female-identifying roommate (open to all if it's a good apt fit though) to join an existing lease that runs through Aug 2026 in a large 2BR/1BA apartment in the heart of Brighton Center. Prorated move in available in October About the unit: 1st floor unit in a 3-floor townhouse, 1,200 sq feet total Full kitchen with gas range, refrigerator, ample cabinet/counter space, bay window and pantry Living room with opening that flows into dining space with built in hutch Hardwood floors throughout Private covered deck and shared backyard space - grills allowed Room is Unfurnished - but common spaces are currently furnished (but flexible if you have furniture) We pay electric and gas heat (water/sewage paid by our landlord) No washer/dryer but there is a laundromat across the street Resident permit street parking (no dedicated driveway/garage) Located in Brighton Center and close to neighborhood bars, restaurants, shops and 1 mile away from Boston Landing development (Roadrunner music venue, New Balance office, etc.) Public Transportation: Express bus to Copley/Financial District: (503, 501), Harvard Square: 86, Kenmore/Watertown: 57 and <1 mile walk from Boston Landing commuter rail stop and Warren St Green Line T Stop Whole Foods and Stop & Shop just over a mile from apt Total Costs of moving in: Your portion of first month’s rent $1,300, no broker/security fee If desired move in is mid month October we'd ask for the prorated Oct rate + Nov rent upon move in. Other recurring costs: Internet/Electric/gas changes by season anywhere between $100-300 per person monthly, but most often in the $150-$200 per person range Shared apartment purchases (kitchen, cleaning stuff, etc.) -- happy to coordinate either alternating buying a batch of supplies or doing split venmo costs, I'm pretty flexible About me / you / living situation: Hoping to find someone that I could have a positive and warm living environment with. I like a tidy shared space and am looking for a roommate who is mindful of common spaces (living room, kitchen, shared bathroom): if something is dirty, we pitch in and clean without being asked, take out trash/empty dishwasher/sweep floor/etc. I welcome get-togethers and friends in the apartment but am not looking for a party household. I have a hybrid work schedule where I work from home 2-3 days a week and have my work space in the dining room, happy to move things around to accommodate a 2nd work station in the common space. While I love furry visitors (I dogsit a couple times a month during business hours, a cute basset hound) no pets are allowed full time. The owners are attentive and live a mile from the apartment and are a sweet older couple - do all their rent payments by check and prefer direct calls for maintenance and other requests.
