As a mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance services, diagnostics, inspections and repairs on a variety of equipment and vehicles in support of our daily operations. Essential Duties - Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. - Adjust brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment. - Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition. - Use hand-tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments, as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches. - Perform janitorial services for building. - Assist customers with vehicle releases. - Deliver equipment, parts, or tools to various worksites upon request. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have the ability to lift, carry, push or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials and balance, stoop, kneel and crouch - Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. - Detail oriented - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals - Must have a valid California driver's license and a clean driving record - Must be able to pass AAA and background checks - Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Apply online through Indeed, on our website at smittystow.com, or in person at our Santa Maria location: 1250 Betteravia Rd, Santa Maria, CA 93455 Don’t settle for less! Experienced Class A Drivers and drivers fresh out of driving school looking to start their career are being requested to apply. You will making deliveries in 53' Dry Van Trailers delivering on a North Central Regional Account. Most drivers are home weekly and can make up to $1400 a week. Job Details Running lanes are OH, MI, KY, IL, IN.  100% No Touch Dry Van freight 4-6 weeks with trainer/mentor (if under 6 months experience) Home for your 34-hour reset Runs keep you within 400 miles of the house. Average miles a week is 1600-2000. Requirements Must have attended and graduated from an accredited truck driving school with at least 120 hours. Must be 21 with Valid Class A CDL Must have a fairly clean driving record with no major accidents, major tickets, or suspensions within the past 5 years. Cannot have been terminated from last job due to safety concerns. No DUI's Felonies, Misdemeanors in the last 5 years. Safety to review all criminal offenses. Must have solid 10-year work history with no major gaps of unemployment. Must be able to pass a Urine AND HAIR pre-employment drug screen.
