We are seeking an experienced Aerial Construction Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of aerial Outside Plant (OSP)aerial construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing field crews, ensuring adherence to construction schedules and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This role is critical to the successful delivery of our fiber network infrastructure, and we’re looking for someone with strong leadership, technical, and communication skills. This role also includes interpreting prepared plans and specifications in providing oversight of aerial construction projects, enforcing codes, ordinances, and construction techniques related to projects. This is a salaried position, with work times to be determined by the needs of the project and company. Responsibilities Perform a thorough review of incoming projects Ability to organize and coordinate workload to determine the priority of duties Maintain project tracking system (Fieldwire & Data Warehouse) to ensure field and upper management are up to date with project progress Oversee day-to-day OSP aerial construction operations including installation of fiber optic cable, strand placement, pole transfers, and make-ready work. Provide oversight, leadership, and mentorship to our field team Conduct field inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, local/state/federal regulations, and safety requirements. Work in conjunction with the Project Manager to ensure effective crew and resource allocation Actively builds and maintains a positive partnership with GAC departments, customers, subcontractors, municipalities, and inspectors Hold weekly meetings with crews both internal and external to keep the team informed and address all issues Ensure field personnel is adhering to all company policies and procedures Work closely with local utility locating services and utility providers to ensure all utilities are marked Ensure all company safety practices are being adhered to in the field, not limited to PPE use. Coordinate traffic control needs for the project Creates and sends out weekly Production Asbuilts to contractors and billing team to ensure all invoicing is processed within the project's required time frame Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance Additional duties as assigned Requirements Education and Work Experience Requirements: Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion High school diploma or GED required Associate degree preferred or three years of relevant work experience Experience in Department management and Supervisory role overseeing direct reports of 3+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required Valid Driver’s License (Required), CDL Class A or Class B (Preferred), DOT Med card (Required) OSHA10 & 30 Certifications (Preferred) Excellent computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Field Wire) Strong leadership and team management skills. Maintain brand and instructional design standards across all content. Deployment & Engagement Publish training content to the appropriate platforms and ensure accessibility for all target users. Requirements Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in Project Management, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or related field is required. Strong video production skills—comfortable filming on location with an iPhone and editing with appropriate tools (e.g., iMovie, Adobe Premiere Rush, Camtasia, etc.) is essential. The Project Manager develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all activities necessary to construct the project safely, within schedule and budget, and to the quality specified. Success in the position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities: Build and maintain relationship with General Contractors and/or Project Owners, Subcontractors and vendors that promote project success. Be the point person from the preconstruction phase to the project closeout phase. Monitor and own the overall procurement and construction schedule and escalate any possible impacts by coordinating with the customer, giving notice as required and maintain documentation for such impacts. Collect feedback from field team to present accurate information for CTCs. Create projection for CTCs and provide to Project Executive for review. Prepare accurate cost projections for each project monthly. Stay actively engaged with labor tracking and weekly look ahead schedules to mitigate any potential impacts to the project schedule or financial status. Oversee timely project requirements and documentation including but not limited to submittals, RFI’s, delay notices, potential claims, and extended overheads.
