Seeking a Maintenance Technician for a wood processing plant. Qualified to oversee the operation and functionality of automated saws for cutting wood, hydraulic systems and air compressors, maintain electrical equipment and electronic sensors on production lines, general industrial mechanics including forklifts, not heavy machinery. Duties and responsibilities Operate and maintain automated linear saws to cut materials according to blueprints and specifications. Load materials onto the saw, ensuring proper alignment and stability for precise cuts. Monitor the saw operation, checking for any defects, issues, or deviations from specifications or tolerances, and adjust as needed. Measure and verify the dimensions of cut materials using tools such as tape measures to ensuring accuracy and quality. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency. Perform routine maintenance on the saw equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and checking and replacing worn blades, drive belts, and other parts. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE, following lockout/tagout procedures, and ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others. Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and report any problems or concerns. Maintain accurate records of production and inspection reports. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Assist with other duties as assigned, which may include tasks such as loading raw materials and packaging and transporting finished pieces Qualifications Proven experience operating precision saw equipment or similar cutting machinery Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Forklift experience and certification is a plus. The roles of Quality Control Technician include, but are not limited to: • Perform chemical and physical testing on raw materials, in-process and finished products to determine adherence to prescribed specifications. • Record test results and demonstrate good documentation practices (GDP) and adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP). • Perform the batch record review per instructions for accuracy and adherence to GDP. • Create and report certificate of analysis. • Perform, record, trend daily/periodic QC checks/data to ensure accuracy and reproducibility of data being reported. • Evaluate the quality of data generated and adherence to procedures and practices. • Record, investigate, and report non-conforming results (OOS) to supervisor in a timely manner. • Report any deviations from procedures and normal practices to manager. • Prepare and standardize laboratory reagents/samples according to procedures. • Ensure all lab glassware is clean, and all equipment is calibrated prior to use. • Keep work area and equipment safe, clean and in good working order. • Attend any recommended training requested by the manager. • Perform other duties as agreed upon by both parties within the scope of the Quality Control Technician role. This person will learn multiple areas of the shop but the main duties will be rolling fiberglass into bike locker molds, trimming and assembling molds, clean up, mold take down. This role includes daily cleaning duties, same as all positions in the shop. There is room for advancement by learning new positions in the shop, Those opportunities will be made advisable as supervisory staff sees fit. No experience required, will train a willing applicant. The person who takes this job will be helping make a wide range of fiberglass products such as bike lockers, boats, train & bus parts. Job includes standing, bending over, lifting and pushing molds that weigh up to 50lbs. Must be motivated, follow directions well and have basic hand tool experience.
