Local established company has an opening for Sewing Machine Operator. We are willing to train in some areas if the individual is the right fit for the team. Job Requirements: Accomplished sewing and cutting skills Experience with double needle, single needle, surger and walking foot machines Ability to interpret patterns and measurements Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. in accordance with safety training Repetitive use of hands and arms Ability to bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time Clear communication skills Basic math and measurement skills Fabricating parts from drawings, patterns and free hand fitting Making new patterns Cutting and sewing of various fabrics including vinyl and canvas Ability to measure, assemble and sew raw fabric pieces into a finished product Qualities Desired: Dependable Willing to learn Ability to take direction and understand verbal English instruction Attention to detail a must Self starter with the ability to problem solve Benefits: Full paid medical benefits after 60 days for full time employees, sick time and vacation time. Responsibilities: • Ensure all equipment repairs and installations are performed in compliance with food safety requirements. • Communicate with supervisor regarding any issues or concerns. • Ensure mechanical systems are in good condition to prevent downtime. • Ensure all work orders are completed on time. • Perform weekly inspections to identify any deficiencies or concerns and report findings to the maintenance supervisor. • Follow company safety and food safety policies. • Use lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment. • Assist with other repairs or tasks as needed. • PPE is required. • Additional tasks may be assigned.
