CNC Machinist – First Class Location: Farmingdale, NY Company: Superior Motion Controls Position Summary: Superior Motion Controls is seeking a First-Class CNC Machinist to join our precision-driven metal manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment and brings deep expertise in the setup, operation, and optimization of CNC machining centers.   Primary Responsibilities: Set up, program, and operate vertical CNC machining centers to produce precision components per engineering specifications and drawings. Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T specifications, and setup sheets with minimal supervision. Perform first-piece inspections and make machine adjustments to ensure adherence to tight tolerances. Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds to optimize productivity and part quality. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal machine performance. Maintain documentation and records for production runs, tool usage, and machine setup parameters. Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to improve machining processes and resolve technical challenges. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Requirements Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 10 years of continuous hands-on experience in a CNC machining environment, with demonstrated expertise in setup and operation. Proficient in the use of precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators. Strong understanding of metal material properties (e.g., aluminum, steel, inconel, tool steel) and cutting tool technology. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight while consistently delivering high-quality results. Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC control platforms preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit/stand at a CNC workstation for extended periods. Capability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed. Must be physically able to navigate the warehouse and access inventory at various heights.
