Mechanical Designer/Draftsman The Designer/Draftsman is responsible for maintaining 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with company and client standards. Create and prepare process drawings, 3D models, details, and drawing sheet packages for fabrication and construction. Essential Functions: Utilize design and drafting software to develop process drawings, 3D models, general arrangements, utility drawings, detail drawings, etc. under close supervision of engineer and design lead Create process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams Design 3D models from process drawings and company specifications with minimal supervision Create 2D drawing package layouts from 3D models Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics Interface with fabrication and construction staff to examine fit up and other issues Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Education Degree and 5+ years related experience required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Strong background in piping and mechanical design and drafting is a must Communicate in writing clearly and concisely Adapt to change in the workplace Use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem Communicate effectively with others using the spoken word Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures. Skills & Abilities : Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, or similar 3D solid modeling / CAD package experience or training in college is required Proficiency in AutoCAD is required Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required Software Experience: 3D modeling experience is a must. Autodesk Inventor highly preferred. Solidworks experience may be considered AutoCAD experience a must Must have minimum of 5+ years’ experience with AutoCAD Autodesk Plant 3D is a plus Job Type: Full‐time To apply for the position, please reply by email with a resume attached. NOTICE OF WORK ENVIRONMENT & OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS: The wastewater industry can be hazardous due to exposure to biological and chemical hazards, as well as physical dangers, including but not limited to, confined spaces, slips, falls, wet and/or humid conditions, high and/or low altitude, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes and/or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, vibration, sewage, epoxy coatings, solvents, and excessive noise levels.  Employees may come in contact with wastewater which contains human waste.  Wastewater contains various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals.  Workers can be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment.  Wastewater treatment processes also involve the use of various chemicals, some of which can be toxic or corrosive.  It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.  While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
