Essential Functions: We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with COMSEC (Communications Security) experience to support a mission-critical DoD program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network infrastructure, secure communications, and cryptographic key management, with a deep understanding of DoD COMSEC policies and procedures. Network Engineering Design, implement, and maintain secure LAN/WAN architectures. Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability. Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines. COMSEC Operations Manage and safeguard cryptographic keying material using EKMS/KMI systems. Operate and maintain COMSEC equipment (e.g., TACLANE, KG-175, STE). Ensure compliance with NSA and DoD COMSEC policies (e.g., CNSSI 4001, DoDI 8523.01). Conduct periodic COMSEC audits, inventories, and incident reporting. Security & Compliance Implement network security controls in accordance with RMF and STIGs. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and threats. Support accreditation and certification efforts for classified networks. Other duties as assigned or required. Requirements 5+ years of experience in network engineering. 2+ years of hands-on COMSEC experience. Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network platforms. Experience with EKMS/KMI, TACLANE, and other COMSEC devices. Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity and COMSEC regulations. CompTIA Security+ or CCNA certification required. COMSEC Custodian Certification or equivalent training. Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance required.
