Our practice covers a variety of civil litigation, real estate and business matters, and we are looking to add a legal assistant who thrives in a team setting and is eager to grow with us. About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced, multi-faceted legal assistant, to work with attorneys across practice areas. The position will encompass the following: • Assist attorneys with business formations, contract drafting, and regulatory compliance. • Coordinate meetings, draft correspondence, and manage deadlines. • Maintain and manage corporate records, business licenses and entity filings. • Prepare, review and organize legal documents, including agreements and corporate filings, pleadings, contracts, and discovery materials. • Provide trial and hearing support • Finalize and forward written communications. • Prepare and e-file documents with Oregon and Washington courts. • Respond to general client inquiries, which may be billable or non-billable, and meet client requests and expectations in a timely and consistent manner (e.g., document revisions, scanning records to PDF, applying naming conventions to file, photocopying, etc.) • Assist with new business intake process (submitting conflict checks, drafting file opening requests, drafting engagement letters) • Maintaining an organized system for physical files including intake, retention, retrieval, and transfer of records • Preparing and submitting expense reimbursement reports • Submitting vendor invoices for payment • Assisting other Legal Assistants with overflow work What We’re Looking For: • Two or more years of experience as a legal assistant. • Excellent organizational and communication skills, sound judgment and decision-making abilities, attention to detail, effective prioritization and ability to meet deadlines. • Understanding of business contracts and corporate filings. • Understanding of court procedures, case management and e-filing. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe, with the ability to create and edit charts and spreadsheets containing basic formulas. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when performing complex legal administrative tasks that may be highly sensitive and require diplomacy and discretion • An ability to foster positive relationships with clients and colleagues Why Join Us? • A collegial and supportive team environment, where initiative, innovation and diverse viewpoints are valued. • Opportunity to work on high-level corporate matters, with a variety of clients. • We invest in your future with mentorship and continuing education. • We understand the importance of flexibility and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. • Competitive salary and benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending account, life and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, retirement contribution matching, and parking/transit subsidy.
