Civil Litigation Attorneys

Our well-established, regional civil litigation law firm needs an experienced paralegal. Experience should include excellent office skills including typing, and knowledge of court rules and procedures for filings, service of process, and related paralegal skills. Experience in commercial and insurance litigation a plus. Hours will be five days a week, 20 - 40 hours a week depending on our needs and your availability. No remote workers please. We are currently seeking a legal secretary or paralegal to assist in our growing caseload. We are located on the Marina in Petaluma, California, 35 miles North of the Golden Gate Bridge. We are looking for employees who like to work hard and have a good time doing it. The ideal candidate has at least three years litigation experience. Knowledge of probate, employment and/or personal injury litigation is helpful. Applicants should expect to assist attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment. This role will primarily support the commercial contract function, providing review of procurement contracts, brand and marketing, and product development. Responsibilities Draft, review, and revise various procurement-side agreements, including SaaS Agreements, Technology License Agreements, NDA's, DPA's, Service Agreements, Independent Contractor Agreements, and Creative Vendor Agreements. Draft, review, and revise various revenue-side agreements, including advertising placement and campaign insertion orders. Update or create legal policies, contract playbooks, processes, and standard operating procedures by collecting requirements from various legal stakeholders. Review, clean up, and close out contract lifecycle management workflows. Update and improve templates and clause libraries. Review and interpret contracts/terms to create legal summaries in support of diligence projects. Web and legal research to inform compliance programs and to educate the department on evolving regulations, policies, and standards affecting the business. Qualifications J.D. with license to practice law in a US state, ideally California licensed. 4+ years of relevant legal experience (may be a combination of in-house and law firm). Strong contract drafting and redlining skills. Experience using playbooks and legal drafting and review standards to review and negotiating commercial agreements. Ability to work closely with members of the legal department to translate feedback into contract redlines and responses. Highly organized with the ability to manage projects from initial idea phases to the final deliverable. A diligent, independent worker with a bias towards action and moving projects and deliverables forward. The Data Entry Specialist is a critical role in the Process Department. This position interacts with various internal departments including Court, Service of Process and eFiling. The primary duties and responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of all service of process request and performing ongoing database maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Enter all data for process service and efficiently while monitoring quality control. 2. Meet or exceed expectations and needs of the Process Department which will be established by the Service of Process Supervisor. 3. Maintain high level of proficiency in working with Microsoft Office Suite of applications and other proprietary software. Job Qualifications: 1.
