Guardian has an immediate need for a Maintenance Technician to join our experienced and committed team at Amity Orchards! Amity Orchards is an affordable lease-up in Beaverton, OR with 164 units. The Maintenance Technician's primary role will be to support the Community Managers by ensuring site safety and completion of required property maintenance necessary to maintain excellent curb appeal and the overall appearance and quality of the properties on a scheduled basis. This will include prioritizing and processing work orders which may include both urgent and routine maintenance of property and apartment units. This position is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work is done in compliance with OSHA regulations, and Guardian policies and procedures. A Maintenance Technician is also responsible for coordinating with other property staff and vendors to provide outstanding customer service to the residents, provide well-timed and proactive property maintenance, safeguard the good financial health and stability of the properties, and complete all required paperwork and reports on time. For this position, we are seeking a dynamic self-starter who enjoys working with others and excels in a fast-paced, flexible, and hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, professional and communicative. Must have a minimum of one year of experience in property maintenance, building engineering or a related field. Must own or have access to a properly insured vehicle for use in business transportation needs, as well as maintain valid driver's license and insurance. Schedule: 40 hours / week, Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM Compensation: $22-24 / hr + Benefits! Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. At least one year of work experience in property maintenance and repairs, construction or related experience. Possess and transport own tools and materials needed for job. Ability to speak, read and write in English. Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner; both verbally and in writing. Able to complete company training requirements for this position within pre-determined deadlines and attend other training sessions as required. Must own or have access to properly insured vehicle for use in business transportation needs; maintain valid driver's license and insurance. If the property has a pool, CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification may be required according to the regulations of the property’s State. We are a seismic retrofit company and work all over the Bay Area. You must be OK with cramped spaces. I mean REALLY cramped spaces under houses. We try to keep a family type atmosphere where people are treated with respect rather than like a tool we need to use. All tools, vehicles, safety equipment, travel time to and from jobsites, etc. are all provided. Must know how to use basic tools, nail gun, circular, sawzall, tape measure, etc . If you do not have basic carpentry skills do not apply. Pay depends upon your skill level. We offer profit-sharing depending on how well the company is doing. We have a 4 day work week 7-430 with 30 minutes for lunch, two 15 minute breaks, and 5 paid sick leave. Time off is easy to get if you just give us some notice. If you want to work overtime on Fridays that is usually an option. We are 5 full time technicians plus a small office staff. Both Spanish speaking and English speaking. As of now we are booked 2 months in advance and could use some help. We have been around for 25 years and only once did we have a two week lay off due to lack of work.
