We were very happy with our resident Ranch manager, but he is leaving us to become an apprentice to a fencing contractor. As a result, Walking U Ranch LLC has opening for a ranch manager/caretaker, to live at Ranch. Compensation depends on applicant's skills, experience and qualifications. Ranch pays hourly, for hours worked, on a W-2 basis. Ranch provides house for manager/caretaker (and family) to live in, as part of compensation. We prefer resident ranch manager to work for Ranch full time. But it is possible to do the necessary Ranch work, and have a second, part time, job outside Ranch, and Ranch is open to that. Manager/caretaker feeds Ranch horses 2 x day; and feeds cattle herd hay, daily. Manager/caretaker checks water troughs that water cattle, to be sure filled; fixes PVC water water pipes that break; checks on cattle herd; repairs fences on Ranch; supervises hay delivery to Ranch storage barn by hay contractor, moves hay for Ranch horses from Ranch storage barn, to Ranch horse barn; splits firewood with Ranch's diesel powered wood splitter; does additional chores/maintenance as assigned by Ranch.
