This class is distinguished from the Fleet Mechanic II by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or non directly related work experience. Employees work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks including: * Methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Qualifications The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. * Two years of responsible vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair experience in a Class 8 Semi Truck and Trailers shop. * Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. * Possession of a valid driver's license. Ability to: * Perform a variety of duties in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicles, equipment and components. * Inspect automotive, class 8 equipment to locate mechanical defects, to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and to determine corrective procedures. * Perform a variety of welding work. * Estimate time and materials needed for work. * Maintain a variety of shop and repair records and logs. Use various hand and power-driven shop tools. * Prepare and maintain clear and accurate reports. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. We are looking for a Construction Carpenter to join our team in East Petersburg, PA! This role will report directly to the jobsite Foreman or Superintendent and requires strict adherence to all Warfel safety rules and regulations, including any site-specific necessities. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:00 AM through 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch. Occasional Saturday work and overtime may be required. Travel to and from the jobsite varies; reliable transportation is required. Requirements Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, HM door frames (knock down and welded), weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware. Install, align, imbed miscellaneous metal and specialty items, such as handrails, bearing plates, lintels, fire extinguishers, bathroom accessories, and various other tasks. Erect scaffolding and ladders for work on structures above ground level Use of appropriate hand tools. Building layout, wood & metal framing, layout and installation of blocking, installing cabinets, and trim and casing. Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as selective demo, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, and cut and attach insulating material. Will be required to assist other carpenters or Warfel employees in the performance of their duties. May be required to operate hand and power tools as well as operate company equipment and vehicles. Ability to supply basic tools required for the position (such as tool box, hammer, nail bag, etc). A full list will be provided during interviews.
