About the Role The Tax Supervisor is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation and review of client tax returns. You will serve as a technical resource, oversee complex business returns, and guide staff development while playing a key role in client service and firm growth. Key Responsibilities Perform technical tax reviews and approve tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity. Take ownership of larger, more complex tax returns; delegate tasks to tax preparers as appropriate. Serve as a technical resource for staff and A&A team members on tax issues. Support client meetings and tax planning efforts, including collaboration with the audit and accounting team. Develop and maintain strong client relationships and assume service responsibility for assigned clients. Oversee governmental tax examinations; represent clients before tax authorities as needed. Ensure smooth flow of tax returns through preparation, review, and delivery within deadlines. Monitor billing and collections for compliance with firm policies. Contribute to business development through networking, referrals, and community involvement. Supervisory Responsibilities Train, mentor, and develop Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-Seniors, and Staff Accountants. Identify staff training needs and provide coaching to support professional growth. Participate in staff performance reviews and evaluations. Requirements Qualifications 5–7+ years of public accounting experience, with progression in tax complexity, scope, and research. International tax consulting and compliance experience required. Familiarity with U.S. domestic and international tax compliance for HNW individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations. Knowledge of international tax concepts including Subpart F, GILTI, PFIC, foreign tax credit calculation, and income tax treaties. At least 1 year of supervisory experience managing tax preparers. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); Master’s in Taxation preferred. Active CPA license or JD required.
