Procon is seeking a Construction Health and Safety Technician. This role is focused on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices at various construction sites across the United States, particularly in government projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in occupational health and safety, particularly in the construction industry, and will be responsible for conducting site inspections, monitoring safety compliance, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among personnel. A detailed understanding of OSHA regulations and federal safety standards is crucial for this role. Requirements Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety, specifically in construction environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and safety management systems. Must possess excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field is preferred. Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) is preferred. Experience with accident investigation and reporting is preferred. Assist in incident investigations and reporting, analyzing root causes and proposing preventive measures. Act as a liaison between Procon, contractors, and governmental agencies regarding safety compliance issues. Maintain safety records, documentation, and reporting tools as required by federal regulations. Foster a culture of continuous improvement regarding safety practices amongst staff and contractors. Present complex technical concepts and project status clearly. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience with highway and bridge inspections on new construction and renovations. The ideal candidate will review blueprints, monitor construction progress, examine exterior work, utilizing survey instruments to verify completed work, taking photographs and maintaining a log. Monitor and inspect the GC for compliance with current safety regulations, standards, project safety plan and report any non-compliance to the Client. Immediately notify the Client when any life threatening conditions are observed, and provide assistance as necessary to remedy such situations. Provide electronic daily reports of the contractor’s and sub-contractors’ work activities witnessed during site monitoring. Provide summary of and discrepancies from the requirements of the Contract Documents. Provide daily site photos to be saved electronically at a designated location on the Client’s network. Provide pre-construction, during construction and post-construction photos of the site. Provide project coordination and construction quality assurance services for the technical aspect of the project. The inspector shall physically verify correct materials delivered and/or in secured storage on or off site, proper materials installed, and percentage of work satisfactorily completed and in place and provide this information to the CM.
