Maintenance Technician | Orangeburg Area The Sunshine House is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair on our preschools throughout the Lowcountry. Pay range: $18-$20 hour, plus a company vehicle. About the Sunshine House Early Learning Academy: Bright futures start here! Responsibilities: Perform minor repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc., unrelated to building property management work. With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete any assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures. Help to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, etc., are followed and enforced, including safety systems and standards. Handle occasional non-technical repairs of the facility (e.g., hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs, etc.). Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required. Travels from Columbia to Charleston to perform building maintenance Requirements Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary. At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs.
