FHU is currently looking for an environmental science intern to join us in our Lincoln or Omaha Nebraska office. This position is for the summer of 2026. FHU's internship program provides valuable hands-on experience before your career begins. During your internship, you will join a project team of highly qualified professionals and performing meaningful work under their guidance.   This internship will provide you opportunities to: Perform field survey activities Apply classroom learning to real-world situations Connect with environmental professionals throughout the company Contribute to the advancement of the profession within the transportation industry Collaborate with other STEM disciplines Requirements Responsibilities of the internship will include: Assisting in data collection, technical analyses, and written documentation Assist in client contact and participate in presentations for specific projects in a supporting role Perform assignments as directed by the technical professionals and project managers Additional responsibilities as assigned   Internship Qualifications Undergraduate (Junior or higher status) or Graduate student in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Physical Geography/Environmental Science, or other closely related field (e.g. Biology) Minimum 3.0 GPA Ability and willingness to accommodate field work conditions (e.g. summer heat) and overnight travel Basic ArcGIS data collection and/or mapping Basic Microsoft Office skills Good verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail   The ideal candidate would have one or more of the following skills or qualifications: Plant identification Knowledge or ecology and wetlands Soil identification/soil science Knowledge of hydrology/geomorphology Coding (Python) Basic knowledge of NEPA and other environmental regulations (state/federal) Benefits The pay for this position starts at $23 hourly. The Materials Coordinator I supports product development by assisting in the purchasing, tracking, and handling of prototype parts and materials.  Duties and Responsibilities: Perform basic material handling, inventory counts, and general hardware lab support  Assist with ordering prototype materials and services, following standard procedures  Track prototype material orders, inventory, tools, and equipment with guidance from senior staff  Support engineers by preparing simple kits and delivering materials as directed  Resolve routine order or delivery issues with support from management  Learn and apply company processes and systems  Require the employee to drive to vendor sites to pick up materials Requirements Core Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent   1–3 years of relevant experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment   Basic knowledge of electronic and mechanical parts  Proficiency with Excel and basic ERP systems Preferred Requirements: Internship or warehouse/procurement exposure  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Atlassian JIRA  Experience in an aerospace environment Travel:  Some local travel will be required  Reliable transportation or ability to travel to vendor sites for delivery duties  Benefits The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
