Job Description
Chairperson of QAPI Committee. Planning and organizing monthly/quarterly meetings. Coordinate with other Department Managers for the required reports and presentations.
Monitoring State and regulatory survey compliance.
Investigating Quality Assurance issues related to grievances coming from residents, families, health plans, Ombudsman, Health Department.
Management of the facility’s mock survey process. Review findings and initiate plans for implementation.
Management on CMS critical element pathways to ensure the facility meets necessary criteria and compliant with the regulatory guidance
Management of (QASP) quality assurance surveillance plan - review the facility’s performance requirements and assessment. Coordinate with MDS coordinator improvement action and monitoring plan
Review monthly or as needed facility’s quality measures and assist the facility with establishing processes and systems that will enable it to provide quality health care that meets organization's standards for effective, safe, efficient, timely, and patient-centered care.
Chairperson of behavior management committee. May initiate a monthly calendar to reflect the weekly meeting for residents due for review.
Coordination of other responsibilities:
Infection Prevention - Assist Infection Control Preventionist in providing trainings, education and in-services to staff regarding infection control program including but no limited to; covid-19 protocols, antibiotic stewardship, other infection-control practices and facility’s protocols following the state and federal, local public health mandates and guidance. Monitoring staff infection control practices on the floor and addressing findings by providing education as needed
Regulatory Compliance Nurse - assist in reviewing, updating, and/or revising the facility’s departmental manuals, policy and procedure to ensure accuracy, up-to-date and represent the current facility practices.
Staff Development Department - assist in providing staff education, training in the classroom and/or on the floor to ensure staff performs and follows facility practices in observing proper and quality resident care, proper observance of infection control practices.
Other duties as directed by the Chief Clinical Officer/ Regulatory Compliance Nurse or Executive director.
Requirements
Must have a current and active California LVN or RN License
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Previous Quality Assurance experience preferred
Knowledge of the MDS assessment process preferred
Prior Point Click Care (PCC) experience preferred
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates proficiency in a fast paced, detail-oriented work environment, and is priority focused.
