Powder Coater Employment Type: Full time position Description: San Diego Powder and Protective Coatings is a fast paced, family-owned business with 75+ employees for over 25 years, that’s serving a variety of products from civilian and military customers. - Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 600 am -230 pm, + Overtime, with occasional Saturdays (40-50+ hours a week) - Compensation depends on experience and capabilities with various coatings. Looking for an experienced powder coater for around $22-25 an hour. Company benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401K, annual performance bonus, and across the street parking. Responsibilities and Duties: The Powder Coater position has the responsibility assisting SDPPC in a variety of functions. Including but not limited to: • Primary responsibility is to apply various electrostatic coating systems to products. • Coating’s systems include but not limited to; polyester, epoxies, FBE, pipe coating and thermos plastics. • Cleaning and maintaining of powder equipment. • Sanding, masking, and hanging product. • Moving racks • General Housekeeping as required • Overtime and Saturdays are expected as workload dictates. Skills and Qualifications: • Minimum 1 Year Powder Coat Painting Experience Required. • Relevant experience operating powder coating equipment or training in a related vocational program. • Proven ability to understand work orders and properly coat parts according to specifications. • Prove strong work ethic and consistent on time attendance. • Proven ability to recommend process improvements. • Demonstrate ability to maintain organization and safety. • Proven ability to consistently meet production schedules. Requirements: • Must be able to pass E-Verify. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Must be able to pass a drug test. • Must be able to perform basic math skills. • Must be able to read and write in English. • Must be able to understand quality standards and adhere to specific written and drawing instructions. • Must follow compliance and safety requirements and standards, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily. • Able to positively interact with customers and coworkers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs. • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. • Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, walk, talk, and hear. • Occasionally sit, climb or balance • Frequently lift/move 10-25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot, cold, wet and/or humid). Most job requirements take place in the warehouses, but some duties are outside the buildings. • Ability to obtain security clearance for military base access is a plus. • Certain positions will need to understand drawings, plans, and specifications.
