In this role, you will define and drive the long-term infrastructure vision across Identity, Endpoint Engineering, automation, API management, and iPaaS integration ecosystems. You will play a key role in executing Oura’s Zero Trust strategy and establishing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards. This position requires deep technical expertise, architectural foresight, and the ability to deliver complex, scalable initiatives that strengthen the security, efficiency, and sustainability of Oura’s IT infrastructure. What You’ll Do Deliver Scalable, Reliable and Secure Infrastructure Drive the long-term architectural vision across cloud infrastructure, identity and access management (IAM), unified endpoint management (UEM), automation, and API management, in close collaboration with Enterprise and Solution Architects Design secure, maintainable systems with best practices for scalability, reliability, and compliance, while translating business and regulatory needs into technical solutions Embed DevOps principles, such as automated testing, release orchestration, AI agents, and audit logging, into Workplace Technology workflows Lead and Evolve Platform Engineering Strategy Act as the lead engineer for core systems and integrations, recommending tools and frameworks aligned with Oura’s IT and security strategy Champion Zero Trust, automation-first practices, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) standards across IAM, UEM, and SaaS in CI/CD pipelines Modernize infrastructure by reducing technical debt and establishing scalable, reusable design patterns Implement AI-driven automation to streamline operations, accelerate incident response, and support a self-healing infrastructure. Mentor and Scale Technical Excellence Uplift engineering practices through mentorship, code reviews, documentation, and architecture leadership Partner with IT management to define technical OKRs, sprint goals, and roadmap priorities while driving deep-dive reviews on infrastructure and compliance Lead Strategic Infrastructure Programs Own the design and execution of high-impact initiatives such as: Next-gen IAM strategy SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST-aligned audit-ready infrastructure Zero-touch deployment and unified endpoint lifecycle Security automation, configuration as code, and global transparency to enable effective governance of support configurations. Influence and Collaborate Across Functions Collaborate with IT, Security, Compliance, Engineering, Legal, and PMO to align infrastructure strategy, guide risk mitigation, and support global compliance Own vendor evaluation, POCs, and QA for key solutions, while shaping policies and frameworks that enable scale and agility Requirements 10+ years in IT Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering roles, with proven success leading engineering practices and transforming compliance-driven environments Deep expertise across Cloud Platforms, Cloud Service Providers, IAM, UEM, API management, and network engineering Strong background in identity platforms (Okta, Entra ID, Google), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible), and Zero Trust principles Experience with automation and integration tooling, including scripting, iPaaS, and modern DevOps stacks for observability, alerting, secrets management, and policy enforcement Demonstrated ability to drive engineering transformation, mentor others, and lead in high-growth, fast-paced environments without direct authority Proficiency in Python for automation scripting, API integrations, and internal tooling; PowerShell for Windows-based automation (if applicable); and shell scripting (Bash/Zsh) for Linux/macOS system administration and CI/CD pipelines Strong working knowledge of YAML and JSON for Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible) and for building automation and integration workflows, including DevOps and API interactions.
