Maxana is looking for a Lead Payments Engineer to join our talented team and spearhead the development of cutting-edge payment solutions for our key client. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and optimization of payment systems that are efficient, secure, and scalable. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations while delivering a seamless payment experience. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of robust payment solutions, focusing on scalability, security, and performance utilizing Golang and/or Python API and Payment integrations (spreedly, stripe, gravy, etc) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine payment requirements and specifications. Implement payment gateway integrations and optimize transaction workflows to enhance user experiences. Conduct thorough technical reviews and recommend improvements to existing payment systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS and other regulatory requirements. Stay current with payment industry trends and advancements, recommending new technologies and practices to enhance existing systems. Establish best practices for payments engineering across the organization. Heavy backend work building out payment platform Technologies Python/Django, Golang AWS Posgres, typescript, javascript Requirements 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on internal payment systems. Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams. Strong proficiency in Python/Django or Golang Experience with payment gateway integrations (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Braintree) and payment processing systems. In-depth understanding of compliance and security standards (e.g., PCI DSS). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in an Agile development environment.
